Montessori Method
The Montessori Method of education was pioneered by Dr Maria Montessori in
the 20th Century. Children are taught in a prepared environment where specially
developed self correcting materials are available to them. In this environment
the child can freely use and play with these materials and with his or her
classmates while fulfilling a natural desire for learning. Children are able to
work at their own pace without distraction in this child-centred classroom. The
classroom also enables them to make self discoveries and work independently

Your child will be provided with a balanced and holistic approach to
education. Access to learning and discovery in Practical Life, Sensorial,
History, Science, Culture, Art, Mathematics, and Language is available at all
times. These areas lead from one to the other throughout the classroom
environment, to ensure a firm grounding and maximum exposure to the concrete
world outside.
In the Montessori environment your child is treated with respect and as an
individual. Your son or daughter will be given every opportunity to achieve his
or her full potential, supported and encouraged by a qualified Montessori
teacher.
